Mad Scientist vs. The Super-human Body

Do you trust your doctor more than your own body?  Well I guess the answer depends on which one is more intelligent.  Or better put; I guess it depends on the nature of intelligence.

The doctor is educated by reading textbooks, listening to experienced lecturers, and by years of practicing their craft on countless patients.  He or she knows to listen to the patient’s complaints, and give these symptoms a name (the diagnosis); provide recommendations based on these complaints (drugs and/ or therapy); then, if we’re lucky, we’ll get some idea of what to expect in the future (the prognosis).

The body learns innately, without books, without lecturers, and without the need of trial and error.  The body knows just how many times to beat your heart, weather it’s active or idle; it knows how to digest food assimilating the good stuff and evacuating the bad; it knows when to cough, when to sneeze, and when to fever; it knows it now, it knew it when you were born, and it will know it the day we die.

Doctors of Medicine rely on educated intelligence to provide information and recommendations to patients. This formula often competes with the instinctive or innate intelligence the body relies on to stay well.  Often times we accept the advise of our doctors as a direct oration from God, even when our instincts tell us differently.  Even the smallest of us reject a spoonful of remedy, as if our taste buds know something our medical professionals don’t.  Changing the body’s chemistry to remove the corresponding signal, or symptom, is like removing the wire to the oil light in your car after it alerts you of an engine problem.  Healing cannot come from outside the body.

Doctors are a valuable asset to the care and treatment of disease and illness, as long as the question of why the disease or illness is addressed. If your doctor is not addressing the question of why, then ask yourself why not.  Is it because the cause of dis-ease in the body is a lack of drugs and surgeries, or is it because the natural ability of your body to take care of itself (innate intelligence) is somehow suppressed, or being interfered with.

Is the nerve supply to the body parts flowing at optimal levels (Chiropractic care), are the muscles tone and elastic (exercise and stretching), is the body being fueled properly (diet and nutrition), is the body and mind rested (proper sleep), and is the heart and soul content (spiritual dedication)?  These are the facets of health and well-being.  These are what your doctor should be educating you on. Drugs and surgery should be a measure of last resort.  We should not try to confuse our body, fighting against its natural intelligence.  We should instead listen to our body and question our doctors, for they are the educators, and our body is innately intelligent.

Remember, disbelief in one thing is generally due to blind belief in another.  If you want your health to change you cannot continue to do the same things.  Trust your instincts, you know what’s good for your body, your mind, and your soul; now you just have to do it.
